Neil A. Ferguson

he/him

Neil was fortunate to be surrounded by the arts from a young age. Growing up in Canmore, Alta., he saw firsthand how art and cultural programming enriches a community and perhaps more importantly, the impact when it disappears.
He holds a degree in Theatre from the University of Victoria and began his professional life working in theatre and live music as a technician. Those years behind the scenes gave him a strong technical foundation and a love for collaboration that continues to influence his work today as a documentary filmmaker.
At his core, Neil is motivated by connection: to people, to place, and to the idea that contributing to your community is simply part of being in it. He’s an active member of the Nelson Lion’s Club and volunteers across the province with MentorAbility, offering mentorship and paid opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
When he’s not up to his neck in imposter syndrome, he’s usually trying to scare himself somewhere in the woods.
