We are very excited to announce that our guest mural curator for the 2026 Nelson International Mural Festival is Revelstoke-based muralist Anto Otoya! Anto participated in the festival in 2024 as a muralist, painting Maria y las mariposas amarillas.

Antonia Otoya is a contemporary Colombian painter and mural artist whose emotionally charged realistic portraiture, nature scenes and ambitious large-scale murals have been the subject of solo and group exhibitions in galleries and street art festivals and fairs since 2013.

Antonia’s work is an intimate look into the subject’s most sincere and vulnerable inner world, externalized through the presence of symbolic elements; it combines precision in execution with humor and character.

Our guest curator prepares a shortlist from the applications we receive, and that list then goes to an arms-length jury for final evaluation.
