Come sing with us! Corazón director, Malaika Horswill, presents a one-hour, all ages choral workshop at the Capitol Theatre. All experience levels welcome. Join us for a joy-filled hour of community building through song!
About the instructor: Malaika Horswill is the director of Solstice and Corazón Vocal Ensembles in Nelson, BC. Prior to her return to the Kootenays in 2021, Malaika was the founding musical director of the Gracenote Vancouver Choir Organization for six years. In May 2024, Malaika was invited to be the Assistant Conductor for the Ellison Canadian Honour Choir at MusicFest Canada in Toronto.
Malaika currently sings with Lalin Vocal Ensemble, and has previously performed with Vancouver’s Elektra Women’s Choir and Edmonton’s Korora Choirs. Malaika has been the Musical Director for several local musical theatre productions, most recently working on Black Productions’ presentation of Legally Blonde, and the Capitol Theatre Summer Youth Production of The Little Mermaid.
Malaika is thrilled to be presenting this choral workshop as part of Nelson International Mural Festival!
